Bio

Tim Carey began working in non-commercial FM radio at the age of 14 in Rochester, NY. He served as a DJ, Music Director, and Program Director for WIRQ. 

He graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a  BFA in Graphic Design while also studying printmaking, digital audio and art history.

After relocating to Atlanta, GA, he worked for various freelance clients before taking a contract position with The Cartoon Network. He worked as a web designer, while also handling project management and art direction.
Tim earned his K-12 Visual Arts teaching certification from Middle Tennessee State University before beginning his teaching career at Henry Maxwell Elementary School in 2005. Following state and national standards, he developed a Visual Arts program blending traditional studio art, visual culture and art criticism. He has served as Media Arts Instructor, Website Manager, Visual Arts curriculum writing team member, PTA Board Member, Leadership Team member, EdTech Trainer, Technology Team Leader, iPad Program Manager, and Special Events Coordinator. 

Tim is currently serving as an Instructional Technology Coach for Rutherford County Schools in Murfreesboro, TN.
Throughout his career he has sustained a love for travel, music, the outdoors and his family. Tim has  enjoyed travels and studies in the US, Europe, Australia, Japan, and Central America. He also enjoys playing the guitar and exploring electronic tools for art and music-making.
He met his wife, Clare, in 2001. She currently teaches 3rd grade. They have a little boy who is obsessed with toy cars.
